"Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one"
-----John Lennon 1971
Great piece! Wish your dreams come true. But painfully enough reality is different from what we dream of. God's (or whoever or whatever!) perception is different from people like you and me. I am a doctor and when I probe into the depth of a disease and its pathology I get annoyed at how imperfect our construction is!
ReplyDeleteI think the world has become overpopulated and our greed is destroying nature. Nature in response is trying to reclaim its pivotal position in the delicate balance beteen people and natural resources through floods, tsunamis, quakes, fires and so on.
Don't you think that at the root of all evil is resource constraint? This earth can hardly sustain 6 billion plus people.
We must act fast unitedly or else we will bring our own downfall as a short-lived so called intelligent civilizaton.
Finally, my remembrance for the loved ones from all over the world who left us on 9/11 six years ago.
Very nicely written
ReplyDeleteYes, they said it well.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree w/ Javed Zaman; too bad reality isn't all that we dream about...
Thanks guys, but I didn't write it. It a song called "Imagine" by John Lennon. I didn't realize that I didn't put the credit on there.
ReplyDeleteIt's one of my favorite songs.
ReplyDeleteIt's sincere.
The world is too cynical.
