Patti pulls away from the shop window, where she had been taping up a missing sign, and whirls around to face Edward.

“She wouldn’t run away Ed, I just know it. She’s out there somewhere and she needs me to keep looking for her, she needs someone to still care about her. Most people ‘round here just gave up and tossed her away like she was some sort of trash, just because her momma was a floozy and a drunk. Now get away from me… You can’t come near me anymore, the judge said so.”
